All about Kristen:

I am a senior at Bryant University and am from Brockton, MA. I am double majoring in Human Resources and Psychology at Bryant and am the Vice President of Professional Activities for Delta Sigma Pi. I am involved in Velocity Dance team at Bryant and my hobbies include dance and baton twirling.

What were some of your responsibilities?

At MSI I am responsible for sourcing candidates for clients, running MSI’s social media platforms, and writing blogs and articles.

What skills did you learn from this opportunity; professionally and personally?

Through this internship I have learned professional speaking skills, have had the opportunity to build professional relationships, as well as understand and utilize recruiting databases such as Monster and LinkedIn. I have also been able to help with interviewing and talent acquisition.

How did you find out about the internship?

My fraternity brother referred me to this company. He brought in the Senior Partner of the company to my event at Bryant, and the rest is history!

What advice would you give to other students/underclassmen looking for internships?

My advice would be to make connections with people. Making a LinkedIn will help you connect and maintain a professional network.

What was your favorite memory/experience at your internship?

I was able to help source a candidate for a client who was then hired. This showed me real success through sourcing this candidate and profitability for MSI.

What was the most challenging?

Figuring out the best way to do things on my own without always asking for help is one of the challenges this internship has had.

How will this further your career?

Gaining real world experience for Human Resources has allowed me to implement concepts from the classroom.

How did your experience at Bryant prepare you for MSI?

I am able to speak with professionals on a weekly basis which has helped enhance my public speaking ability and increase my network.

If you could have dinner with anyone alive or dead, who would it be and why?

I would like to have dinner with Barbara Corcoran because of her built up success. She is a woman influencer who has built her own success and has inspired me to one day do the same.

What is your favorite sports team?

Red Sox

What was the last restaurant you ate at?

Rocco’s Wings

What’s your favorite social media platform and why?

Facebook because I am able to keep in touch with my entire family.

Do you like to plan ahead or work better under pressure?

I work better under pressure.

What was the last place traveled to?

I traveled to New Orleans for a service trip.

Where do you see yourself in the next 3 years?

I want to be living the American Dream. I want to be an established business woman and also own a lot of dogs.
